This is the homepage for the In Re Florida Microsoft Antitrust Litigation Settlement. The case was filed in the 11th Judicial District Court of Miami - Dade County, Florida, Index number 99-27340 CA 11. THIS SITE IS NOT OPERATED BY MICROSOFT CORPORATION. ALL INQUIRIES SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE SETTLEMENT ADMINISTRATOR AT 1-888-748-8055 Case Background Plaintiff alleges that Microsoft unlawfully used anticompetitive means to maintain a monopoly in markets for certain software, and that as a result, it overcharged Florida consumers who licensed its MS-DOS, Windows, Word, Excel and Office software. Microsoft denies plaintiff's allegations and believes that it developed and sold high quality and innovative software products at fair and reasonable prices. On April 15, 2003, the parties settled the case, and the Court conditionally certified a Settlement Class (defined in the notice) and approved a preliminary Settlement Agreement, signed by Microsoft Corporation and Class Counsel. The Court granted final approval of the Settlement on March 14, 2006.
Settlement If you are located in Florida and purchased certain Microsoft software, or a personal computer with certain Microsoft software installed on it, between November 16, 1995 and December 31, 2002, you may be eligible as a Class Member and entitled to benefits under the proposed class action settlement. To be a Class Member, a person or entity must have purchased in the United States a Microsoft Operating System and/or Microsoft Application for use in Florida, in the United States, between November 16, 1995 and December 31, 2002. Licenses for re-sale or re-licensing and licenses for government entities are not eligible for the Settlement. If you are a member of the class, you are entitled to receive Settlement Benefits. Microsoft will donate half the value of the unclaimed Settlement Benefits to help Florida's public schools - those with at least 50% of their students qualifying for the federal free and reduced-price school lunch programs. Florida's public schools will receive vouchers to use on a wide variety of computer hardware, software and professional development services.
